Calculate the percentage of allergens in a cosmetic formulation up to 3 oils at a time with our professional cosmetic allergen calculator.

First: Select how many essential oils or fragrance oils in the formula and then enter the final product concentration for each oil.
Second: Select the allergens as stated on the IFRA allergen declaration documents and input the percentage of allergens present in each oil.

Allergens Made Easy

To comply with EU regulations, the 26 allergens that occur in fragrances and essential oils need to be included on the ingredients list if they are present at or above a certain concentration (0.01% for wash-off products like soap, 0.001% for leave-on products like body butters and creams).

Example

You use 2% Lavender and 1% Rosemary essential oil in your handmade soap.

STEP 1: Click on button 2 (for 2 oils) and input the number 2 (for lavender) in the first box, and the number 1 (for rosemary) in the second box. Your calculator should look like this;

STEP 2: You will need the IFRA allergen declaration sheets from your essentail oil supplier. This is an example of what the IFRA sheet for Lavender might look like;

Lets input the values for lavender in the calculator from the table above, making sure that the values go into the box for oil#1. Your calculator should now look like this;

Now, lets look at the allergens in the second oil, Rosemary, from the example table below;

Input each value into the boxes for oil#2. Your calculator should now look like this;

RESULT: Remember, soap is a rince-off product, so we only need to include allergens that are present at or above 0.01%. So, in this example, the list of allergens in order of concentration, would be; Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol.
